Courtney Ochi was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and moved to California to attend the University of San Diego. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Communication Studies and studied abroad at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain. Ms. Ochi earned her Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential through the High Tech Graduate School of Education and has taught students in grades Transitional Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. For the last two years, she has worked in school leadership serving students in grades TK through 8. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education in School Leadership from the University of San Diego.
Ms. Ochi is passionate about making education accessible to all students. She is a fellow in the RISE Urban Leadership Program and RISE Urban Principal Preparation Program and leads affinity spaces for Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander early decision corps members through Teach for America.
In her spare time, she loves traveling to new cities and exploring new places. You can often finding her at barre and dance classes or reading a good book while soaking up the San Diego sun. She is so excited to be joining the Elevate team and looks forward to serving the Elevate community.
