Mrs. Matos was born and raised in San Diego, although she did spend a couple of years living in Santa Barbara, she couldn’t stay away from this wonderful city! Although 2020 was a rough year for everyone, it was a year of huge milestones in Mrs. Matos's life. She graduated from her bachelor’s and teacher credentialing program at Point Loma Nazarene University in May 2020 and in September 2020, she married her best friend, and now husband, Chris.
Mrs. Matos loves visiting the San Diego Zoo, going to the beach, and spending time with her three dogs. She also loves to spend time with her husband, exploring new places, trying new restaurants (especially for breakfast), and doing projects around the house.
Mrs. Matos is passionate about teaching her students how to become life-long learners and she wants to provide support for their creativity and innovation in the classroom. She hopes to help her students to increase their self-confidence and start to gain a larger vision of what they would like to do with their future lives. She is so excited to be a part of the Elevate family and she looks forward to seeing what the amazing class of seventh graders will accomplish this school year.
