Martha was born and raised in Mexico. Her family moved to San Diego when she was in high school, and she has lived in San Diego ever since. She is so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn English and Spanish. Despite the challenges of learning English, she continued to work hard to finish her degree in psychology at SDSU. Learning both languages opened the door for her to help Spanish speakers navigate the medical, mental and educational English world by translating. In 2017 she started working with special needs children to provide the help and support that children need to grow and strive not only with their academic goals but with their daily life skills too. Everyday, she looks forward to working with students. During these years of working in this position, she has had the great opportunity to work with a team where communication, support and understanding are first priority.

Martha loves spending time with her husband and adult children, who are in college. In her free time, she enjoys spending time playing board games, going out to theme parks, going to new places, or anything else that is fun. She also enjoys helping the community through her church by participating in environmental clean-up campaigns, blood and food drives.
