Today’s activities are listed below. Please find all the resources to complete these on our Google Classroom website or the appropriate linked website (i.e. iReady or Raz-Kids)


LEAD Time: Whole Class Zoom Meeting at 11am. 


Math

  1. Complete Math Quiz (10 minutes)
  2. Play Learning Games on iReady (15 minutes)

Reading

Objective: I can demonstrate my understanding of how to ask and answer questions during reading.

  1. Answer our reflection question for the week posted in Google Classroom. (5 minutes)
  2. Log in to Illuminate and complete your assessment for RL.2.2 and RI.2.2. (20 minutes)
  3. Practice your assigned book for reading group in Raz-Kids for 10 minutes. (It’s perfectly fine if you can’t finish reading the whole story in one day!)

Writing

This week’s writing prompt: Pick your favorite animal, and write a story about how you would spend your day as that animal from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.

 

Today you will turn in your final draft on Google Classroom! 


PBL: 

Watch video with Ms. Bennett and record observations on Properties of Matter: Popcorn sheet on Google Classroom. (20 min.)


Optional: 

  • Practice typing everyday on Typing Club
  • Play learning games on iReady

Objective: I can subtract on a number line.

  1. Complete Fluency Pages (15 min.)
  2. Complete 1 lesson from My Path on iReady (20 min.)

Reading

Objective: I can identify the main idea of a nonfiction text.

  1. Log in to iReady and complete the “Find the Main Topic” lesson that has been assigned to you. (20 minutes)
  2. Practice your assigned book for reading group in Raz-Kids for 10 minutes. (It’s perfectly fine if you can’t finish reading the whole story in one day!)

Writing:

This week’s writing prompt: Pick your favorite animal, and write a story about how you would spend your day as that animal from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.

  1. Your goal for today is to get started on your final draft of your story. You can type in the attached Google Doc and turn this in to us tomorrow. We can’t wait to read your creative stories!

PBL:

Reading

Objective: I can retell a story and identify main story elements.

  1. Listen to Billy Miller, Part 2, Chapter 1. (6 minutes)
  2. After you have listened to the chapter for the day, please complete the Part 2, Chapter 1 comprehension questions. (5-10 minutes)
  3. Practice your assigned book for reading group in Raz-Kids for 10 minutes. (It’s perfectly fine if you can’t finish reading the whole story in one day!)

Writing:

  1. Review the anchor chart for adding on a number line and complete Fluency Pages (15 min.)
  2. Complete 1 lesson from My Path in iReady (20 min.)

Reading

Objective: I will practice identifying the lesson in a story.

  1. Listen to Billy Miller, Part 1, Chapter 5. (5-10 minutes)

  1. Watch the video about writing a rough draft.
  2. Write your rough draft for your story. If you'd like to write 5 sentences today and 5 sentences tomorrow, that's ok! You can write this on your own piece of paper and save it for tomorrow's writing activity.

  1. Watch our video lesson for the day about identifying the lesson or moral in a story. You can find this video uploaded on Google Classroom. (5 minutes)
  2. Watch the video with our Billy Miller chapter for the day: Part 1, Chapter 4 and answer the comprehension questions. (15 minutes)

Writing:

This week's prompt: Pick your favorite animal, and write a story about how you would spend your day as that animal from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.

  1. Watch the two videos about imaginative writing linked in Google Classroom.
  2. Fill in your graphic organizer to make a plan for your writing. You can print out the Graphic Organizer from Google Classroom or write your own plan on a separate sheet of paper--whatever is easiest for you!
