Expanded Learning (ELO-P)

  • Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is an extension of school hours that complements the learning happening at school. It includes educational, enrichment, and athletic opportunities. All students may participate, however, students who qualify for free or reduced meals, foster youth, and English Learners receive priority in ELO-P programs, as long as their sign-ups are received before the program deadline. Students who participate in ELO-P are expected to withhold the same leadership standards as within the regular school day.

  • Students must be registered for the Expanded Learning Opportunities-Program in order to participate in any activities outside of regular school hours (before school, after school, or during school breaks).  ELO-P registration is also required in order to receive future club information and registration details, therefore all Elevate students are encouraged to complete a general registration form, even if you are not planning to participate in ELO-P right away.

    Priority for Families Free/Reduced Status:
If your family qualifies for Free or Reduced-Price Meals, your student will receive priority placement in programs and clubs—as long as each sign-up is completed before its deadline. Additionally, all programs and clubs (including Champions) will be offered free of charge to qualifying families.

    What’s Next?
[Note, the registration process is the same for all families, whether you qualify for Free/Reduced Meals.]

    1. Complete a Meal Application for the 25-26 school year.  All families are encouraged to apply, even if you have not qualified in the past, as the the qualification criteria change each year.

    2. This application can take up to 10 days to process. If the student qualifies for Free or Reduced Meals, you will receive an official letter from Elevate that may be used for discounts to Champions, ELO-P programming, and reduced rates on public utilities and home internet service. Families must have this official designation letter in order to qualify for the free programs listed above.  If your family does not qualify for Free or Reduced Meals, you can still participate in ELO-P, on a lottery-based availability.

    3. Complete the ELO-P General Registration form.  This form is only submitted once for the school year.

    4. Communication surrounding ELO-P Clubs and intersession programs will be posted on Parent Square and here on the website. Whenever you have interest in a particular ELO-P activity, complete a sign-up form for that club/sport/program prior to its deadline.  Participation is not guaranteed; after priority students have been placed, the remaining students interested in the activity will be chosen by random lottery.

    5. After the sign-up deadline and all sign-ups have been processed, you will be notified by the ELO-P Coordinator whether or not your sign-up has been accepted, based on availability.
