Jill Gerber

Jill Gerber is a human resources professional with a focus on the retail and hospitality industries. Jill has developed her career through working with such companies as Marriott International, The Aspen Skiing Company and Road Runner Sports. In 2018, Jill joined Tracy Borkum’s highly acclaimed Southern California restaurant collective, Urban Kitchen Group, as the Director of Human Resources. In this capacity, Jill is responsible for all human resources behavioral competencies and trains her managers on how best to support the employee lifecycle. She is devoted to navigating the complexities of California employment law and addressing employment relations issues to ensure the employees she supports feel safe, valued, and are seen as respected members of the Company. She has been a member of the Society for Human Resources Management since 2012 and is both SHRM-CP and HRCI-PHR certified.

 

A born and raised California girl, Jill moved from Turlock, CA to San Diego after high school. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Point Loma Nazarene University with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Women’s Studies. After college, Jill began volunteering at her local church’s AWANA program where she was able to actively engage in working with and developing kids ranging in ages from 3 – 8. She has recently stepped away from this volunteer opportunity in order to allocate her time to help support the goals of the Elevate Foundation.

 

In her spare time, Jill enjoys “lazy” days at home with her husband, Andy, daughter, Harper, and son, Carson. She is an avid reader and hopes to instill a love for reading in both her children. She is also an outdoor enthusiast who has completed multiple half and full marathons and has most recently hiked the Grand Canyon North Rim to South Rim in a single day. She is currently planning her next adventure.
